Hi, I’m Terri, with Workforce Strategies, where we take the hassle out of hiring. Today I would like to talk to the employers a little bit about hiring more than just a skill set. Sometimes as employers we get locked in to looking at resumes and looking at skills, but there’s more to it than just that. During the interview process, it’s important that you try to understand the candidate and who they are. What’s important to them? What their personal belief system is? Because if you take the time to hire someone, who not only has the skills you’re looking for, but their personal beliefs submission align with that of your company, you’re going to have a more successful and long-term employer/employee relationship. So just remember, you’re hiring more than skills.
