Tips to get a Job: New Hire Process

Welcome to Tuesday with Terri. I’m Terri with Workforce Strategies, where we take the hassle out of hiring. Today I want to talk to you a little bit about the new hire process. You’ve gone on the interview, you’ve landed the job, and now the employer has sent you some instructions. Maybe it’s about new hire paperwork? Maybe it’s about drug testing? Whatever it is, you need to act with a sense of urgency to make sure that you follow through and complete those tasks. Sometimes what we see happen is we send people paperwork that needs to be completed or we send them follow up instructions, and they treat it with a “I’ll get around to it sooner or later” -type attitude. And that’s not OK.

Go ahead and take care of those tasks. Get them clicked off. Let that employer know you’re putting your best foot forward.
